In 1987, the San Diego Convention Center was under construction. Prospective clients were questioning the cost of shuttling their attendees between hotels and the center. Steve Weathers, who was active in local tourism, was approached to lend an opinion on the costs and logistics involved.
Sensing a void in the industry, Steve and his wife Pat founded SEAT Planners in 1988.
Steve had a background that included charter and transit bus management. Combine that with Pat’s years in the hotel industry and it was the perfect combination. Daughter Veronica and her husband Antonio rounded out the management team, making it a true family affair.
Since that time, we have grown by applying scientific logistics to passenger transportation management. While we’ve become more successful, other companies have sprung up to follow our example.
